Follow these steps to get Bloop & Crabby running in your Discord server
Click the link below to add the bot to your server. It only requests the minimum permissions it needs — nothing destructive.
- Send Messages — reply to users
- Embed Links — show character avatars
- Attach Files — send images if needed
- Read Message History — understand conversation context
- Manage Webhooks — Bloop & Crabby appear as separate users
- Use External Emojis — character expressions
✅ No admin access, no kick/ban, no manage server, no delete messages — completely safe!
Create 2 roles so server members can @mention each character. This is a one-time setup.
- Go to Server Settings → Roles
- Click Create Role
- Name it exactly:
Bloop - Pick a color (light blue/cyan works great 💙)
- Scroll down and toggle ON → "Allow anyone to @mention this role"
- No permissions needed — leave everything unchecked
- Click Save Changes
- Go to Server Settings → Roles
- Click Create Role
- Name it exactly:
Crabby - Pick a color (red/orange works great ❤️)
- Scroll down and toggle ON → "Allow anyone to @mention this role"
- No permissions needed — leave everything unchecked
- Click Save Changes
@Bloop or @Crabby to talk to a specific character. Without roles, they can still chat normally — the bot responds to all messages in allowed channels.
That's it! The bot will automatically:
- Create webhooks in allowed channels (so Bloop & Crabby appear as separate users with their own avatars)
- Detect the roles you created and link them to each character
- Start responding to messages in channels listed under the Channels tab
Head to the Channels tab to add channels the bot should respond in, or Settings to tweak behavior.
@Bloop— talk directly to Bloop@Crabby— talk directly to Crabby- Just type normally — the default character for that channel responds
- Reply to a character's message — that character will respond
